Juniors

At Dunbar self defence we are very proud of our Junior section - the children here work every bit as hard as the adults. They learn the same strikes, practice the same drills and put in an equal amount of effort. They have wonderful manners and show a great respect for their teachers and for one another.

Juniors training

Learning to defend from the floor: in school yard fights crowds can gather quickly - in this drill you must learn to protect your head and strike at selected targets.

At Dunbar we train juniors from 8 years old onwards.

Here two of our young valkyries are practising on the pads.

Two young lads enjoy a milling session (with soft pads)

And one young man puts “Bob the bully” in his place.

We like to keep up to date with current trends and often discuss with the kids topics such as Bullying, Happy slapping, mobile phone theft etc,

Of course it’s not

all hard work

Having such a wonderful group of highly motivated, hard working juniors this year

gave Brian a real headache when it came to choosing Student Of The Year

but for sheer enthusiasm no one could beat this years winner.
